How we check the numbers.

Every number has a source and a check date.

How do you check the numbers?

Every number cites its primary source, such as studentaid.gov, the Federal Register, the CFPB, Fannie Mae, the AAMC, or the lender's own product page, with the date checked, and a named reviewer checks each guide before it publishes.

  1. Each figure is traced to its primary source, never a blog or forum post.
  2. Each citation carries the date it was checked, so you can see how fresh the page is.
  3. A named reviewer checks each guide before it publishes.
  4. When a source changes, the page is rechecked and the date moves.
